There are several possibilities, russel.  Is the folder being sorted at all?  To test this, move one of the folder's items up or down, then sort again.  Does "sorting" move it back to the original location?

We probably need some screenshots or other more specific information on this issue.

Sorting a folder of bookmarks always sorts bookmarks and folders mixed regardless of the setting (e.g. bookmarks above folders).
I've tried sort by name, shortcut, URL, whatever.
Am I missing something?
