We can't reproduce any hang as you described.  If you can, please send us a Hang Report.  To do that,

• Activate the Mac's Finder, such as by clicking on the smiling Mac in the Dock.
• Click in the menu: Go > Go to folder….  A sheet with a small text field will appear
• Copy and paste the following "path" into the text field

    ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/

In the window which opens, are there any files whose name begins with "BookMacster"?  Also look inside the Retired subfolder if there is on.  Please send anything such files to support@sheepsystems.com.

I shall try and reproduce the freeze.

Regarding a workaround, if this really a fresh start, the Safe Sync Limit should be infinite which should allow unlimited changes.  Try to re-set the Safe Sync Limit on Import to infinite.  To do that,

• Launch BookMacster with the option key held down.  (The i]option[/i] key will prevent Import upon opening, in case you have enabled that feature.)

• Open your .bmco document file if it does not open automatically, by using main menu > File > Open Recent.

• Click the tab Settings.

• Click the tab Clients.  In the view which appears, near the middle is a gear button which indicates Show Import Postprocessing if you hover on it.

• Click that gear button.  A sheet will pop over.

• In that sheet, set the Safe Sync Limit to ∞.

• Now retry your Import All.

Later, consider re-setting that Safe Sync Limit to a reasonable value.

Bookmacster 3.3.6 on Mac Tahoe 26.3.1.

Fresh start. Import All. Reports import operation caused too many items to be added, updated, deleted. "Please examine the Content ..." and an OK button; but, has frozen and Finder reports Application Not Responding. Happened twice now.

Work-arounds? More useful information that can be reported?

There is currently no way to change that.  Syncing all the browsers immediately when any change is detected in any browser minimizes the possibility of syncing conflicts.  And to sync with Brave requires using our extension which requires that Brave be running.  Back in the old days, we had reverse-engineered browsers' bookmarks files and could make changes while browsers weren't looking.  But nowadays, the Chromium-based browsers can check to see if any changes were made behind their back like that, and they sometimes barf.

An alternative design would be for our agent could hold on to changes until Brave was launched.  But then if the user had made changes in Brave on a different device, and both the changes from Brave on the other device and from other browser(s) on the current device would hit at the same time, making a possible sync conflict.

To avoid the annoyance of Brave launching and taking over your screen momentarily, we recommend leaving Brave running at all times (by making it a Login Item), keep one Brave browser open, and keep that window minimized to the Dock.  This way syncing can occur silently and invisibly.

(The requirement to have a browser window open in Brave is due to a current bug in the Chromium source code which it seems will not be fixed for a long time if ever.)

We have the code written now and need to start testing.  Atlas does its bookmarks somewhat differently under the hood than other Chromium-based browsers.

We started looking at ChatGPT Atlas today and plan to continue tomorrow.
