I'm not sure where you "saw" these bookmarks.  Do you mean the Bookmarks Toolbar along the top of the window?

I think that maybe the Bookmarks Toolbar and this new thing which they call the Stash are the only two "folders" in which you can put bookmarks now.  You see in my attachment a screenshot of the latest developer version, Opera 20.0.1346.0.  There is no Bookmarks menu.  If anyone has a clue as to what they are doing, let us know.  The best I can find is this blog post from July 2013, but that's pretty old now.

So the bookmarks I saw was migrated from v12.  Also, there is a menu-item to import bookmarks!

Oh, BookMacster does not support Opera 18 because, well, Opera 18 does not support bookmarks!

According to Opera's developer blog, bookmarks will return in some future version of Opera.  I haven't checked yet this week, but in last week's builds, bookmarks were still missing.

Probably they've decided to work on the hard stuff first  Grin

Update:  I have stopped using Opera primarily because v18 is a WIP (no H.264 support).

If the problem happens again I will post a followup.

I followed your instructions and found the bookmarks were not altered after my change until I started Opera v12.  Opera v18 removed the bookmark toolbar which might be causing the problem. I have not found a substitute bookmark toolbar with Opera v18.

I have been testing versions 12 and 18 and have not committed to either version.  Opera has problems with Flash video ie., Youtube where the resolution is limited to 360p.

If there is no workaround for the Flash video resolution I will stop using Opera.

Hello Merciless,

So the export is initially OK, but then something comes by (?? minutes later?) and clobbers bookmarks in the toolbar.

Let's see if that something is a BookMacster Agent, or some other app.

Please do this…

• In BookMacster, click in the menu: BookMacster > Stop Workers, Agents, then OK to "Kill" any agents.  If the Stop Workers, Agents is disabled and indicates (0), (0), skip this step because there is nothing to kill.

• In BookMacster, do what you did before, which I think is to put one more more bookmarks into the toolbar, and then click in the menu: File > Export to all (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera).

• Verify that the exported bookmarks appeared in the four browsers as expected.

• Wait a few minutes, or whatever, and see if they stick.

Then tell us what happens.  If you want to send us your data as you have previously, we've done some work on the Help > Trouble Zipper tool since then, to try and reduce the file size, and also we have a file uploader now.

Bookmarks Toolbar Change does not stick

I'm using Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera.  For whatever reason the bookmarks saved to the toolbar are removed.  I have tried saving the bookmark shelf and exporting but nothing works.  Within a matter of time the toolbar bookmarks are removed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

TIA
