The change requested by Alps has been implemented in BookMacster version 1.22.5.  It is now available on the alpha release channel.

Because we could not think of any use case wherein the new behavior would cause a problem, we did not add a preference switch to get the old behavior.  Y'all please let us know if you find any such adverse use cases, or any other issues.

Sorry this is taking longer than a few days but, in case you haven't heard, Apple announced on Monday that they're blowing up several of the boxes that restricted developers like us from making more useful apps, and my head has been kind of spinning around those.

Anyhow, we completed coding this feature today.  It looks like maybe we can just hard-wire this in as the way it works, and not add a preference.  Off hand, I don't see any down-side to it.  We need to give it a thorough what if analysis, though, while we're testing it tomorrow.

Hello, Alps.

I think you mean that if you have two bookmarks, one that begins with http:// and one that begins with https:// but otherwise has the same URL, that you would like these to be detected as duplicates, and furthermore when you click "Delete All", the one with https:// should be the one that remains.

That looks like a good idea that would be easy to implement.  We'll try and get you out a beta version with that feature in a few days.  I'll post back here when it's available.

After running a verify where a lot of bookmarks were updated to an https address, I had a hiccup on another of my machines and after reconnecting it to iCloud, all the bookmarks that were updated to an https address were reimported as http versions again. So now I have a huge amount of "duplicates" that BookMaster does not find.

Suggestions on fixes here that can find and delete an http version of the bookmark when there is an https version?

Can a change be made to the way BookMaster finds dups to take into account this type of use case?
