Sorry for the long wait.  A combination of spam filters, or possibly misbehavior by Mail.app caused notification of your post to be hidden from me until today.

I think that BookMacster should find your Firefox profile as long as you rename it using Firefox' Profile Manager.  I've opened an issue to check out your report in more detail after I get through this pile of emails Sad

Finally worked it out : that error occurs when the Firefox profile path does not respect the default naming pattern.

Let me elaborate.

I usually manually backup and restore my profile, and I renamed the profile folder from "xxxxxxxx.FrancisK" to only "FrancisK", so the path was "/Users/FrancisK/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/FrancisK". Well, it seems that impairs Synkmark's ability to access bookmarks data while Firefox is running. Changing the path back to something like "/Users/FrancisK/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/xxxxxxxx.FrancisK" solved the problem.

I get that this kind of renaming isn't usual, but I also believe that the error message does not reflect the issue at all, and it should be considered a bug (especially considering that it's the first time any App encountered a problem related to that renaming).

I guess I'll go buy my licence now, although I admit I'm just a tad disappointed by the lack of response here (I guess there's however a good reason like holidays or such)

Hello,

I just discovered your softwares a few days ago and they seem perfect for a use-case of mine.

However, I'm having some trouble with Firefox : whenever Synkmark or BookMacster tries to import or export the bookmarks while Firefox is running, it fails.

The error is as follows:

Error: 145725
Interapp messaging error : Server port (com.sheepsystems.BookMacster.ExtoreFirefox.ERROR.ToClient) not found.


Also, the "Manage browser add-ons" windows seems to have some difficulties too : the install works, but whenever I try to "test" Firefox, it fails. And in the "More tests..." window, the bookmarks change event is fired correctly.

That being said, when Firefox is completely closed, the sync (and test) do work correctly.
I may have misunderstood the BookMacster workflow, but I read most of the documentation and if I understand correctly, they should be able to sync (through the addon) when the browser is running.

I'm using the latest stable release of OS X (Yosemite 10.10.5), same for Firefox (40) though with unusual settings (especially concerning cookies, but I doubt add-ons even use them).

I can provide any additional info or screenshot or whatever if needed.
