Am not sure though which additional info I might give you for the issue happening all the time?
Well, the fact that you've confirmed you're using our BookMacster Button Chrome extension helps.

I played with it some more and found a bug.  The bug is in the "lineage" field, which is just to the left of the Move underlined blue hyperlink.  The "lineage" field shows the selected (or newly-landed) bookmark's parent folder, grandparent folder, great-grandparent folder, etc.  If I open a first .bkmslf document, then close that (or maybe not) but anyhow open a second .bkmslf document, the lineage field will continue to show the lineage of the last bookmark that was selected in the first document, which may be no bookmark, in which case it will indicate No selection.  The Move underlined blue hyperlink still works "under the hood".  This bug bears a definite resemblance to the behavior you've described.  Maybe while I'm fixing it I'll discover more.  In the meantime, please try to relaunch BookMacster such that the .bkmslf you want to land bookmarks into from Chrome is the first and only .bkmslf document that opens, and see if that works better.

On the feature request I do not want to sort a folder permanently but want to sort the current view when searching to allow me narrowing down. Keeping the columns with sort arrows for years and versions is confusing and doing so  permanently across releases frustrating.
I see what you mean.  The user-defined column headings were a cool way to make a flexible table back in 2009, but we can do better today, which will leave the column headings free to sort in the conventional way.  I think we'll make it a priority to work on that.

Thanks, you're right on the assumption of me using the bookmacster button in chrome to immediately open the bookmark in inspector to flag etc.

Am not sure though which additional info I might give you for the issue happening all the time?

Hello, sheepcore.

It looks to me like you are landing new bookmarks directly into BookMacster, using either our BookMacster Button Chrome extension (the square BookMacster button in Chrome's toolbar) or BookMacster's Menu Extra in your Mac toolbar, and in either case you have the preference or option key configured to show the Inspector immediately upon landing the bookmark so that you can tag it or move it.

I have been playing with this for the last 15 minutes or so, using the same versions of OS X, BookMacster and Chrome which you have.  I have landed about a dozen bookmarks, half of the duplicates, moved them, tagged them, merged them, and so far everything has behaved perfectly.  Please send or post some more details that would help me to reproduce the behavior you are seeing.

Regarding your feature request, a few years ago we added a Sort now, by command to the contextual menu.  Perform a secondary click (control click, right click) on any folder, or selection of multiple folders, and you see there is a selection of 10 attributes you can choose to sort by.  See attached screenshot.  Is that what you want?

v2 (inspector) bugs

After having updated to v2 - and having restarted and re-installed Bookmacster the inspector is all but working.

Moving bookmarks does not work.
Sometimes the path is not changed at all in the inspector but the bookmark is being moved under the hood, therefore missing the tags it was already assigned.

New URLs - hereby referred to as fully new URl for all but the protocol - show up as already in and do I get a warning for a duplicate with the inspector showing the tags and the path assigned the previous bookmark.

Aside that I still cannot sort by any criteria in the content pane, something I was really hoping for in v2.

... am using Bookmacster 2.02 w/ Chrome 46.0.2490.80 (64-bit) on OS X 10.11.2.
