Short version: Is the affected web browser running with windows open? If so, open a browser window and try again it should work.
Short version: If this happens when a browser is running but no windows open, open a browser window.
Longer version:
Sadly, there is a bug which appeared in Chrome in early 2024 which kills our extension when the last browser window is closed in Chrome, and during summer 2024 we see that this bug has now infected the other Chromium-based browsers such as Edge and presumably Opera, Vivaldi, etc.
To work around the issue,
when you are done using Chrome, Edge, Opera, etc., either Quit it, or minimize the last browser window to the Dock instead of closing it.
We reported this issue to the Chromium/Chrome developers on March 12, 2024 and hope they fix it soon. You can view the current status of the bug
at this link. If you have or don't mind creating an account on chromium.org, you may post a
me too or post your own comment to say
please fix this soon.
If you are getting Error 145725 which is not explained by this bug, and have tried the other suggestions given in the error dialog, contact our usual
support email.
