Thanks, F451.  The short answer is: keeping it in the back of your mind for a long time.  Since I wanted something non-furry, an icon involving bookmarks was an obvious choice since bookmarks are rectangular – a shape that engineers understand!  About 15 months ago, the icon had an arrow (as in bow and arrow) shooting through the holes in the bookmarks.  I didn't like it and would often think about it immediately upon waking up in the morning, and then one day I got the idea to add the smile.

It's made with Cheetah3D.  I'm a complete amateur with Cheetah3D -- just learned enough to get the icon looking good enough.  One of these days, I'd like to do more with this and other icons.

Okay, I know the history of the BookDog icon as through the years I have seen you post comments about it, but can you tell us how you came about BookMacster's icon? I like the icon very much.  Smiley
