OK, I just tried the download again and found that MacHangout is back in business now.

So Glims 1.0b28 works fine for me with BookMacster and Safari.  First I tried it on a little test Bookmarkshelf, then my usual 1500 bookmarks.  No problem.  I used the Glims Add Bookmarks Here feature, imported to BookMacster, sorted, exported back to Safari. Everybody's happy.  Added a couple of separators in BookMacster – Glims displayed them beautifully.  Did another Add Bookmarks Here in the folder that had the BookMacster/Glims separators, did another import/export round trip, still looks good.

Now, F451, I know you've been using BookMacster since before I was born (I'm giddy today after we finally got BookMacster 1.5 out the door).  Seriously, though, although I kind of remember such a thing, I just searched all of our support forums and email archives and couldn't find it.  Give me some more clues.

If you have a Time Machine or similar backup of your ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist file from last week when you had Glims installed and were having the trouble, maybe if you'd shoot that over to us we could reproduce the problem.  But if BookMacster couldn't find the file, I don't know.  As you know, to the annoyance of some, BookMacster is quite descriptive when it encounters an error.

The dreaded issue I first had with BookMacster not finding it bookmarks file. I deleted Glims and the error did not recur.

Thanks.  MacHangout's Amazon S3 link to download 1.0b28 (to which all roads lead) has been timing out for the last 15 hours.  I wonder if maybe they recognized major regressions and pulled the plug on this release.

What kind of havoc is it wreaking?

I still have 1.0b27.  Even though I have my Glims prefs set for non-stable releases, it seems to only run once a week, and I can't see any way to start it manually.  Can't find any news beyond 1.0b27 on machangout.com either.

Heads-up, the latest beta of Glims is wreaking havoc with BookMacster. I've had to turn off Glims features for the Bookmark Bar. This might not be an issue for your system so this is a troubleshooting issue if you are experiencing issues.
