I understand now. It works as advertised. Thanks.

Hello again, Joe.  I just retested and it works as expected for me.

First of all, this only works in the big "global" Tag Cloud in the left pane of a bookmarkshelf window.  It does not work in the Detail View at the top, and does not work in the Tags field of the Inspector panel.  Second, it only does anything if the number of tags overflows the window so that scrolling is necessary.  Third, it performs a scroll to visible function, which means that it only scrolls as far as necessary to reveal the first tag whose first letter you typed.  For example, if tags F-K are visible, and you type the letter 'A', it will scroll up so that the first tag beginning with 'a' is visible at the top of the view.  It you type the letter 'P', it will scroll down so that the first tag beginning with the letter 'p' is visible at the bottom of the view.

Can you reproduce it now?

Jerry,
This version is great! The only new function  I could not get to work properly is:

"Typing a character while focused on the Tag Cloud, if the Tag Cloud is scrollable, now causes the Tag Cloud to scroll to the first tag beginning with the character typed, if any."

If I activate the tag cloud by clicking in a space in-between tags, then type a letter, nothing happens, if I type three letters, a tag will appear at the top of the tag cloud, but it is not a tag associated with the three letters. So for example if I type "gen" for generator, then "baseball tag" comes up instead.

And thats another question, is the functionality of this feature such that when you type the first letter, the tag will appear at the top of the tag cloud?

Great Job on all the other numerous fixes and features especially auto fill for tags and the contextual ability to change a name of a tag.

Joe

Darn.  A couple versions back, BookMacster was handling that preference incorrectly.  I thought we'd fixed it, but thinking it through further, your preferences might still be wrong if you skipped a certain version.

Please download, unzip and run the attached AppleScript.  If I've identified the problem correctly, it will fix your preferences, re-launch BookMacster and find the latest version.

We're pretty close.  I think I can go out on a limb here and say within 48 hours.

Thank you for the report.  The answer is that there is a bug which causes autocompletion to not work if you have a large number of tags.  The bug has now been fixed and it will work properly in the next version, BookMacster 1.12.6.

Hi, when will 1.12.6 be released?
Thanks
Joe

Tag Autofill

I was wondering why a tag does not come up and autofill if it is already stored in the tag cloud. In the pic attached to this question. I want to assign the tag "generator" to the bookmark that appears in the inspector. You can see that the tag "generator" is in the tag cloud. So if the tag is already in the BM database, why wouldn't the tag fill in if you typed in the first few letters like "gen" in this case. I hope I have explained this correctly.
