This issue is now fixed in BookMacster 1.15.3 which we published yesterday at our Beta level.

But the big change in this version is support for Firefox 22.  If you are on the Firefox Beta Aurora channel, please let us know if have any issues using BookMacster 1.15.3 with Firefox 22 or Firefox 23.  Landing new bookmarks from Firefox using BookMacster's menu items in Firefox, automatically detecting changes and importing from Firefox, as well as exporting to Firefox, should work as before after updating to BookMacster 1.15.3 and clicking through the automatic Firefox extension update.  The new versions also use a new method for importing and exporting Firefox' Live Bookmarks.

Here's how to get BookMacster 1.15.3.

Upon further testing, I found that the actual trigger was editing tags and then not deactivating the tags field by clicking in a different field or hitting the 'tab' key before de-activating the window or the application.  So it's not necessarily when you land a new bookmark.

Anyhow, it was a bug, and is now fixed for BookMacster 1.15.3.  As a workaround, for now, hit the 'tab' key when you are done entering tags.

Hello sheepcore,

I see.  It happens when you are using BookMacster directly, land one bookmark into BookMacster from a browser, give it some tags, leave the Inspector open, then reactivate a browser and land another bookmark in the same way.  I can see where this behavior might be desired sometimes, but I don't think we planned it that way.  I mean, it looks more like a bug to me.  My inclination would be to change the behavior so that a newly-landed bookmark always begins life with zero tags, instead of adding a preference.

Added to the bug tracker to be fixed.

When adding a new bookmark the tags from the previously added one remain in the inspector and have to be removed ... can this be turned off (by default)?
