OK, so it was not present in the dock, not visible when hitting "command tab"  BUT since I had the menu bar icon active I discovered that the app, for some reason, is opening in it's own background mode - different from MacOS "Hide" ... ok, so now I have it back ... but when I quit and restart it opens in it's own background mode again ... I found the check box in preferences and shut that off.  OK, so I learned about BookMacster background mode  .... !

Here's a more complete answer.  First, check this out.  If that's not the problem, something must have went wrong during the update download.  You should redownload BookMacster from BookMacster/s web page.

Just to make sure … do you see a BookMacster icon in the menu bar, on the right side?   Make sure that you're using an app which does not have too many menus.  Activate Finder.

I recently installed & ran Bookmacster on a second computer (iMac27, 3.4GHz Intel Core i7 with 32GB ram - OS 10.8.4).  I configured the app, loaded bookmarks, export, etc. etc.  all normal.   

Now, (not sure if anything changed - I don't think so ...) when I launch the app, it does not appear.  No menu - no sign of it running - nothing to "force quit" except for the process is running as per activity monitor.  I have killed the process, restarted the computer.  Same - it shows only in Activity monitor. 

I have also tried launching .bkmslf files directly - and tried different files - in lieu of launching the app directly. 

Suggestions?
perhaps uninstall / reinstall?
delete a preferences file?
