Hello, Corey. Thank you for purchasing BookMacster. The short answer is that the feature you want is not available at this time.
Let's see if we can develop a workaround and/or a future improvement. The attached screenshot below shows what I see when in my Status Menulet. The Mini Search menu item will search bookmark names, and tags, and I think is what you want to use. When you click it and begin typing, a filtered list of bookmarks appears and shrinks as you type in more characters. I think this is the list that you want. I don't think you want a list of all your tags, because for your use case to work, you are scrupulously tagging all of your bookmarks, which means you have a lot of tags, and therefore to scroll down to zebra would be unpleasant.
That being said, I see where BookMacster could be improved upon in a couple ways…
• The Mini Search should be up higher in the menu, making it first or second, so you would not need to hit the down-arrow key so many times in order to reach it. It is where it is because it was added later, but it is in fact more useful than the list of root items (Bookmarks Bar, Other Bookmarks, Reading List and Gear.
• We could have a preference to not show the root items at all, and this would be appreciated particularly by users who have many bookmarks at root. You see in my screenshot it's not so bad for me because I only have one bookmark at root, Gear.
I think these are good improvements and we're going to give them a fairly high priority for upcoming BookMacster versions. I'm not sure we want a preference to eliminate the Show, Background and Quit items, because those are needed at times, but we'll give it some thought.
As an immediate workaround, if you have many bookmarks at root which are pushing Mini Search way down, I'd suggest you move them into one of the Hard Folders (bar, menu, or Reading/Unsorted).
Let us know what you think.
