BookMacster 1.22.11, which runs in Yosemite, is now available.  Although we gave it quite a bit of testing, some significant changes were needed to work around Yosemite, so we're going to leave it on the Alpha release channel for a few days and hope that y'all can let us know if there's anything bad that we missed.  Here's how to get it.

Using Smarky, Synkmark, Markster or BookMacster in OS X 10.10 Yosemite requires Yosemite Developer Preview 4 (14A298i) or later, **and** Smarky, Synkmark, Markster or BookMacster 1.22.10 or later.  Otherwise, you'll get an Error 1538022 upon opening any document.

As always, we're open for bug reports, either on this forum or, if you prefer, email.

There were two issues causing trouble in Yosemite.

Issue 1 was some strange incompatibility that is fixed in BookMacster 1.22.10 (which is not available yet).

Issue 2 was a horrible bug in Yosemite which Apple fixed four days ago, in Developer Preview 4, build 14A298i.

I wonder if someone with the so-called Public Beta could help us out here, because I'm not sure how the Public Beta relates to the Developer channel.  Someone replied privately and gave me the answer.

For anyone's information, to find out the exact build number of your OS X version…

• Hold down the option key on your keyboard.
• Click in your main menu:  > System Information….  A window will open.
• In the left sidebar of that window, select the ► Software row.
• In the right sidebar, the first item listed is System Version:
• Copy and paste whatever it says after System Version: to your clipboard.  For example, on my Mac, it says OS X 10.10 (14A298i).
• Reply to this message, and paste it the text you copied.

The Yosemite Public Beta version is:

System Version:      OS X 10.10 (14A299l)

Definitely not working under the Public Beta which was released today.

Small dialog window states it is is "Processing xxxx.bkmslf..."

Can't close window -- keeps running.
That is true.  We're still working on it.

Hello, schnide.  Yes, we've tried it and discovered that, but have not investigated yet.  At the moment, tied up with our Chrome extension.  Hope to get to Yosemite within the next couple weeks and see how Apple broke it.  I'll let you know when we've got something that seems to work.

Morning,

I know it is not released but wonder if you have had a chance to check it out yet with Bookmaster? BookMaster updates and starts up but seems to just keep going and going and not opening the bookmaster file. Let me know if I can provide any information.

Thanks
Joe
