Hello, Andrew.

Sorry for the days' response in replying to you.  I'm still having trouble with spam filtering. 

Anyhow, in case you have not found the answer, yet, here it is:

I tried the global keyboard shortcut from Firefox and it worked for me.  However, it is kind of a kludge with Firefox, and a more reliable way may be to install our Firefox extension, and it will install two menu items into your Firefox "Bookmarks" menu.  To do that, activate BookMacster and click in the menu: Preferences > Adding, then look at the pictures and click the "Go There…" button.  When it takes you to the "Manage Browser Add-Ons" window, if you want more info, click the "?" button to read the relevant section in the Help Book.

Regarding the other browsers, the short answer is that some of them will work and some of them won't.

I just registered Bookmacster. I’d been using URL Manager for quite a few years, until I upgraded from a G4 Mac with OS X 10.4.11 to an Intel Mac with 10.9.5. I began having a frustrating issue with URL Manager that the author couldn’t seem to help me with, so here I am. I’m using Bookmacster on just one Mac, so synching doesn’t enter into it. So far I like Bookmacster.

I’m finding that using Bookmacster directly is similar to URL Manager = pretty intuitive for me. I mostly use Safari, but I occasionally use a few other browsers: Firefox, OmniWeb, iCab, Maxthon, Roccat, Iridium, Opera.

Being a keyboard-centric guy, I’ve set up Cmd-opt-J as a keyboard shortcut to land bookmarks to my bookmark shelf. This works great from Safari. I haven’t tried it with all the non-Safari browsers, but it doesn’t work from Firefox. I type the keyboard shortcut, and nothing happens.

Any suggestions how I can land bookmarks from browsers other than Safari? Thank you.
