App says it is in App Translocation Folder (Error 298460)

Apple's overly cantankerous security regime, specifically their problematic App Translocation feature, has struck you, but fortunately our clever Translocation Malfunction detector has identified the problem.

This issue occurs if our app was not unzipped by double-clicking the .zip package in Finder and then dragging the .app which emerges to /Applications. In particular, use of third-party unzipping apps such as BetterZip will land you here.

To resolve the issue, try to clear everything out…


• Open a Finder window to the folder where that error says our app is running from.
• Delete any copies of our app which you find in there.
• Delete any copies of our app in /Applications or anywhere else.
• Quit our app if it is is still running.
• Type our app's name into Spotlight and verify that any copy it finds will not run.
• Launch Activity Monitor and see if BkmxAgent process is running. If so, kill that it.

and then start over from scratch…

• Redownload our app from our site.
• Double-click the .zip download in Finder.
• Manually – with your mouse – drag the .app which emerges into /Applications.
