Adding Bookmarks from Status Menulet or Dock Menu

We've had several inquiries regarding why BookMacster does not have an Add Bookmark item in its Status Menulet and Dock Menu, like URL Manager Pro does.

At this time, BookMacster's Status Menulet and Dock Menu are only capable of visiting bookmarks, not adding bookmarks.  The only method to add a bookmark directly to a BookMacster Bookmarkshelf, while working in a browser, is to use the BookMacsterize bookmarklet.  Months ago, we'd experimented with other methods but went with the bookmarklet because it was the only reliable method that worked in all browsers.

An Add Bookmark item in its Status Menulet and Dock Menu must be engineered separately for each browser and can be rather fragile; as URL Manager Pro users know, it has been broken in Firefox since Firefox 3.  It looks like we now can probably add support for this via most browsers, and we're working on it.  But we're going to use proper, supported Extensions or AppleScript, not fragile back-door hacks.

As always, if you want to know as soon as it's ready, in BookMacster's Preferences ▸ Update, make sure you're switched to at least "Beta (Early Adopter)".

Thank you.
