Just to clarify, the "vertical line with arrows pointing left and right out of it" is not the window-edge-drag cursor.  The Mac doesn't have a window-edge-drag cursor, because you can't resize windows at their edges as you can in MS Windows.  The cursor you're describing is the column heading resize cursor.  (See the tiny, attached screenshot below.)

Now, I've seen "sticky cursors" occasionally in many Mac apps, including Apple's apps, and always thought it was a bug in the Mac OS.  But it's not "often".  And I just played with BookMacster for a few minutes, trying to evoke such a sticky cursor by resizing columns.  But it worked fine; no sticky cursors.

If you ever notice the "Steps to Reproduce", let us know and I'll check it out.

While reorganizing bookmarks I find that the mouse pointer often changes from the arrow to something else like the window edge drag symbol (vertical line with arrows pointing left and right out of it), and doesn't want to change back.
