Thanks for explanation.

I am afraid Bookmacster is not a high enough priority for me to let it take up precious Dock real estate or to leave running all the time. I would however be glad to launch it from a menu when needed.

Yes, that's what's intended, Mike.  BookMacster must be running with an open Bookmarkshelf document in order to receive bookmarks from browsers, or to visit bookmarks from the status menulet.

The idea is that you can leave BookMacster a Bookmarkshelf minimized to the Dock.  There is a to-do item to add a checkbox to Automatically minimize to the dock when opened, which might make it into the next update.  Does that seem OK?

I have checked the preference to show Bookmacster in the menu bar, and expected it to be there all the time.

But it disappears when Bookmacster is closed.

Is that as intended?

If so what is point of the option to show in the menu bar?

Thanks
