Hello, Ingo.
Thank you for contacting us. I see from your screenshots that in the tab Settings > Sorting, you have correctly chosen the option Folders above bookmarks. However, note that this is a setting, not a command. The result will not appear in Safari or Firefox until after (a) the sorting is done and (b) the results are exported to Safari and Firefox.
To do (a) and (b),
• Click in the menu: Bookmarks > Sort All. • Click in the menu: File > Export to all.
I also see that you have Settings > Agents configured to watch, import, sort and export with Safari and Firefox. So, after you quit BookMacster, the above operations will happen automatically several minutes after you add or change a bookmark in Safari or Firefox. For syncing to occur automatically, you must Quit BookMacster. Do not leave BookMacster running, and do not make BookMacster a Login Item.
I also see that, in the Agents tab, you have chosen the Advanced sub-tab. Your settings look OK because they are in fact the default settings, which you probably got by switching on checkboxes in the Simple tab. I presume that, like 99% of users who want syncing, you want simple syncing. Therefore, before you quit, I recommend that you switch back to Simple, click the Full Syncing button and switch on the Sort (alphabetize) checkbox.
Almost no one needs to use the Advanced agents tab. The Advanced agents tab gives very fine-grained control over what happens, but as you can see, you need to understand how it works, what you want, and think carefully. It is easy to mis-configure the Advanced settings to get unexpected results.
