macOS 15 Sequoia

Short version: No changes.

Good news:  Initial testing of our apps in macOS 15 Sequoia (Beta 6) did not show any issues.  In a pleasant surprise, macOS did not even ask us to re-grant any permissions or re-launch our agent (BkmxAgent).  Everything seemed to just work after logging in to macOS 15 for the first time.

UPDATE 2024-09-10: Later, we found one small issue which only manifests if you launch BookMacster and open a second .bmco document after opening a first .bmco document.  This was caused by a bug in macOS 15 which we reported to Apple (FB14892799) on August 22, but unfortunately the bug has not been fixed in the presumed Gold Master macOS 15.0 which Apple released yesterday to developers and will presumably be released to all users next week.  Therefore, today we published BookMacster 3.1.5 which contains a little hack that works around this bug.  Users of Synkmark, Markster and Smarky are not affected, because these apps do not support opening a second .bmco document.

Bad news: An official, supported method of accessing Safari bookmark in the presence of iCloud syncing, which we have been requesting of Apple since they removed it 13 years ago, has still not materialized.  Therefore, our apps shall continue to use our proprietary reverse-engineered contraption, which requires that our apps be granted Full Disk Access.  And since no other developer in their right mind would go down this road, our apps will likely remain the only way to manage Safari bookmarks outside Safari for at least another year  Sad
