Hi,

Yes I believe you misunderstood. This has nothing to do with the Visit With issue, it is totally different.

What I was trying to say is that when no browser is running, the BookMacster menu item is empty (says something like 'No Browser). I would like to be able to see my bookmarks in that menu without having to first launch a browser.

Durring a normal day, I will launch and quit my browser several times. I would like to be able to select a bookmark from the menu, have it launch the appropriate browser (based on that bookmarks 'visit with' settings) and go to the page.

Right now, if I forget that my browser is not running and I go to the menu, I can not select a bookmark without first going to launch a browser.

Just a time saving feature request.  Smiley

I hope I have better explained my request. If not, let me know.

Regards,

John

I'm probably not understanding the problem.  Here's what I did

• Select a bookmark in BookMacster's Content View.
• Bring up the Inspector.
• Set to Visit with Firefox.
• Quit Firefox if it is running.
• In BookMacster ▸ Preferences ▸ General, check Show BookMacster status in menu bar.
• In BookMacster's status menulet, click that same bookmark.

Desired Result: Firefox launches and browses to that bookmark.
Expected Result, based on your description: Nothing happens.

When I do this, I get the Desired Result.

What did I misunderstand?

Bookmarks accessible form menu without browser

I saw another post about the menu item disappearing when the application is quit. While this does not bother me, it did remind me of something that does.

I would like to be able to go to the BookMacster menu item and select a bookmark with out having to already have a browser running. BookMacster would the launch the appropriate browser and go to that link.

Just like I can 'see' all my 'MS Word' documents without having MS Word running, I would like to be able to see my bookmarks (contained in BookMacster) without having to have a browser running.

This is similar to how URLManager worked.

What do you think?

Regards,
